LGBTQIA International provides specific support and resources for international LGBTQIA students regarding their nationality, cultural background, gender and/or sexual identity on campus. LGBTQIA International programs, events and activities address issues related to international gender and/or sexual minority identities and work to connect international LGBTQIA students with each other. LGBTQIA International is a collaborative effort between the Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life and International Support & Scholar Services.
If you are a student interested in creating connections and building community with other LGBTQIA international students finding a mentor may be right for you! The Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life offers mentor services as a resource for other International LGBTQIA students through one-on-one conversations, email correspondences and referrals.
International LGBTQIA Student Support Group
The support group is international LGBTQIA students only. It provides a safe space and time for international students to talk about their personal experiences and help and support each other. The support group meets throughout the academic year to create community.
Cross-Cultural Discussion Group
The cross-cultural discussion group is held by International Student and Scholar Services and the Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life. It is a space for international LGBTQIA students to share and discuss their cross-cultural experiences and personal thoughts about sexuality and gender.
This ongoing survey is designed to evaluate campus climate for international LGBTQIA students. The daily issues and necessary resources for international LGBTQIA students may be different from local LGBTQIA students due to cultural, national, or environmental factors. The survey will remain completely anonymous and confidential.
